Okay, everybody had lots of fun with yesterday's problem including me, so here's another! :D Your displayed prowess tells me you're MORE than ready for a challenge such as what I offer below.
A few hints:
A Sign Diagram is Recommended
Remember to set it to Zero before solving.
BONNE CHANCE!!!!! :D
The flash kind of hit in an inopportune area, so here's the verbiage there around the flash:
Express the answer in terms of intervals, if possible.
Yesterday's answer has been posted in an edit of yesterday's post. I have this blog set up to show only one post on the page, so if you want to look at old posts you have to click on the drop-down menu titled "Don't Live in the Past." This will take you to all of my old posts.
Today's problem is one that I really struggled with last night, and even this morning as I was cursing my dry erase marker for pooping out on me. It wasn't until I got home and was under the caffeine effects of some fabulous iced tea from Wendy's that I was able to quickly and easily solve this problem without any issues. I hope the same for you!
The hints should help with anyone feeling a bit rusty over these problems. Then again, perhaps you'll just all pwnzernoodle me again and show your infallibly superior Calculus skills over lil' ol' me! *chuckle* Whichever one it is, I hope we have lots of fun and maybe even learn something.
Cheers!

9/24/08: SOLUTION!
Okay, this comes with a bit of humor. First, because you all were so quick to get the last one that I thought I was just a horrible n00b and you all would totally pwn me with the calculus thing. Then to see you all screaming as much as I did! (Okay, so Jenn didn't scream PUBLICLY, just in IM!!!)
The second bit of humor is because when I went to solve this for the second time to post the solution it didn't come out right! LOL I forgot to bring down the negative in the -3x+7, so my sign diagram wasn't working right. Took me forever to find it, then slapped my forehead and started again.
SO -- if you didn't get this one, don't feel bad, it was a toughie.
And now, without further adieu, here is the solution (2 screens):
So there ya go! Let me know if you have questions -- hopefully I didn't skip anything.
