Snew

What's "snew," you ask? Well, I don't know, what's "snew" with you?

HAR HAR HAR

Okay, so I've taken that MP3 player off temporarily while I futz around with the HTML. Being a budding HTML person I've been monkeying with the code to make it do what I want and I've reached an impasse between taking two pieces (namely the moon phase and the MP3 player, which come from different websites) and making them play nice together in the same page element. As it stood before I removed the MP3 player, I could either have them stacked on top of each other on the left, or the MP3 player would be on the right at the very top of the box and the Moon Phase would be on the left with about 5 lines of space sitting on top of it for no apparent reason. My initial research and futzing got me nowhere but frustrated, so I saved the code in Word and removed the MP3 player for now. That music (and volume!) was probably as annoying to the rest of you as it had become for me, so I figured it would be a boon to us all to have it removed as I hammered out the HTML. :)

In other news, we got a George Foreman grill last night. (His mother will be so proud.) We had gone to Chili's for dinner the night before, after MUCH discussion of where to go, what's good, and finding ZERO parking at Olive Garden. Upon reaching Chili's, I had the Quesadilla Explosion (for the uninitiated, this is a grilled chicken breast cut up and spread over tortilla strips that are cut in strips and lots of romaine lettuce, along with a single cheese quesadilla cut into fourths) and he had some sort of chicken with black beans that looked REALLY good.

At some point during the meal (perhaps after the Margarita Presidente had started to kick in.....) I realized that although our food shopping had risen to great levels for breakfast and lunch, we were still gravitating to eat out for dinner to have things like chicken and beef. AHA! The light bulb went off and after a bit of discussion (and laughter that his mom had told us for YEARS to get one of these) we decided it was indeed time to get a George Foreman grill.

Upon arriving at Target the next day (our new favorite store!), we headed straight for the "Small Electronics" section that houses such wondrous goodies as Espresso Machines, Fancy Blenders, and of course, George Foreman grills!

The $19.99 model looked like it would only hold one burger at a time, which seemed stupid since there were two of us. The $29.99 looked about right, with room to hold two burgers or two boneless chicken breasts, but of course we had to keep looking. Next was a $39.99 model that was on sale for $34.99 (whoo hoo for sales!) but whereas the $29.99 was wide, this one was tall instead, and didn't look like it would hold two pieces, so onward and upward. The final model was $129.99 and had WAY more bells and whistles than what we needed. Apparently it made waffles, grilled items, had a griddle, and played checkers with your kid while you were out. NOPE! $29.99 model it was. SOLD! To the young couple gawking in the aisleway with the hungry look in their eyes.

So we have now added George Foreman to our arsenal of helpful food gadgets in the kitchen. He will be joining the likes of Mr. Coffee (drip-filter & espresso models) and GE the Toaster Oven (with removable crumb tray!) for our nearly every day use.

Huzzah!

yay for you guys - we had one for a while and realized we didn't use it near as much as we thought we would... I resort to sending pete out in the freezing cold, rain, and sweltering heat to fix my food.

LOL!!! Too funny! Yeah, I'm not too happy with the amount of clean up it takes (several paper towels after using a soapy sponge 4-5 times), but the end product is pretty good tasting.

I guess we'll see what happens! I may resort to grilling outside after all -- LOL!!
