I realized after looking at Hank's comment that I should let you all know we're fine. We've had lots of rain and a few tornadoes, but other than that it's business as usual.
I've joined a crochet and knit club at the library, and hope that this will help me complete my estimated 5-year project. It's a bedspread for our queen size bed and it's gonna take FOREVER.
I'm rarely online anymore except to pay the bills and glance at email, so if you need/want to reach me, your best bet is email or phone or something.
One of the reasons I'm hardly online is I've also joined the summer reading program at the library and the more books I read, the more prizes I can win! :D So I'm doing a lot of IRL stuff and less virtual stuff.
I don't know how Doug & Jamie are faring in this weather -- I saw on the news that some levees broke in Missouri, but I don't know what that means for their house. If I get any news, I'll let you know.
Christy is doing well, just overbooked as usual, trying to be all things for all people. They never got real clear answers on Nate, and I need to follow up with her to see what the latest is.
I'm hoping that Sally is doing better? No news has been heard here in IN except that last email that she was having some drooping, etc. We're all hoping it was just a temporary reaction to the chemo, but if anyone has some updates, please let me know.
That's all for the news, now here's my commercial:
For many years, I have refused to shop at Wal-Mart, choosing to vote with my dollars and not support a company that once used to buy American and help the American workers and now purposely screws over their suppliers and employees. Since that decision, I never had a good way to SHOW what it was that I disliked so much about Wal-Mart. Then, I came across this movie that shows just exactly what's going on in the cities Wal-Mart descends upon, what's happening to their employees, and what conditions their suppliers work in.
I urge you to watch this video with a critical mind, and continue to watch through the section about the suppliers. I will never forget the Chinese girl speaking to "Honorable and Respectable Customer, ..." and I hope you don't either.
All the best,
K~
